ON THE BRINK: A COMMUNITY FALLING INTO THE SEA - Samantha Wynne-Rhydderch reads from her second collection of poems, Not in These Shoes (Picador, 2008). Questions and discussion to follow.
Samantha Wynne-Rhydderch grew up in New Quay, Ceredigion where she still lives. She read Classics at Cambridge followed by an M.A. in Writing at Cardiff University. She lived in Oxford, Paris and the Isles of Scilly before returning to New Quay. Her first collection, Rockclimbing in Silk (Seren) appeared in 2001 to critical acclaim. In 2005 she was awarded a Hawthornden Fellowship to write Not In These Shoes, which was published by Picador in 2008 and shortlisted for Wales Book of the Year 2009.
