The Boston College Romance Languages Graduate Student Association is pleased to announce our eighteenth annual conference in Romance Studies. At this two-day conference we will be discussing the role of conflicting viewpoints in Romance Literatures and Languages. Relevant themes and topics may include, but are not limited to:

Cultural Clashes
Perspectives on History
Marginalized Perspectives
Construction/Deconstruction of Perspective
Narrative Perspectives
Linguistic Theories and Perspectives
Gendered Perspectives/ Feminist Perspectives
Queer Perspectives
The Oppression/Repression of Alternative Perspectives
Internal Conflicts and Clashes
Integration/Reconciliation of Perspectives
Visual Perspective/Perspective in the Arts
Geographical/Regional Perspectives
Socio-Political Perspectives
Religious Perspectives
We welcome creative submissions and proposals for papers in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Catalan. Presentations will be limited to a reading time of 20 minutes (8-10 pages). Abstracts should follow the MLA style and be no more than 250 words; they must include a cover letter indicating the title, author’s name, affiliation, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. A selection of the presented articles will be published in the journal of literary criticism, Romance Review.
