The island existence of the Military Orders is still a relatively unexplored domain. Papers on a variety of aspects (e.g. political, military, social, economic, cultural, architectural) are invited to consider if islands such as
Cyprus, Rhodes and Malta affected the development of the Military Orders. Communications in English are preferred, as this will be the language of publication, but they may also be delivered in French, German, Italian or Spanish. Papers should be no more than 20 minutes in length. The symposium will meet on Rhodes, Greece, on Thursday 28 & Friday 29 April 2011.
