Dear Colleagues,
Center of Oriental Studies of Vilnius University (Lithuania) and Board of Editors of journal “The Acta Orientalia Vilnensia” invite submissions of papers to thematic volume, scheduled to appear at the end of 2010. This volume will contain essays addressing any aspect of epistemology or theory of knowledge in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism to be gathered under the title “Through the Looking-Glass of the Buddha-Mind: Strategies of Cognition in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism”. Possible topics, to be approached either comparatively and/or thematically, may include:
- logical and methodological backgrounds for the theory of knowledge in different philosophical schools of Indo-Tibetan Buddhism;
- conceptual and non-conceptual understanding of reality in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism;
- theories of cognition in Sūtras, Tantras and commentaries;
- semiotic and phenomenological problems presented in traditional Buddhist texts;
- Buddhist philosophy of mind as presented in traditional texts

Dear Colleagues, if you wish to make a contribution to this volume, please send me a title of your article before the 1 of February 2010. The deadline for the articles submission is the 30 of March 2010. The length of the papers is negotiable.

The Acta Orientalia Vilnensia (AOV) is a semiannual international journal publishing research and book reviews on various aspects of the Indian Subcontinent, the Middle East, Central Asia, the Far East and South-East Asia, classical and modern published by Center of Oriental Studies of Vilnius University (Lithuania).
