Sculpture in Painting gallery discussions
Henry Moore Institute in collaboration with
The National Gallery
14 December 6-8pm - National Gallery, London
15 December 2-4pm - Henry Moore Institute, Leeds
These events have been programmed to coincide with the Henry Moore Institute's Sculpture in Painting exhibition and The National Gallery's The Sacred Made Real: Spanish Painting and Sculpture 1600 - 1700. Speakers include artists Tim Braden, Neil Gall, Paul McDevitt, and Lisa Milroy, art historians Emma Dexter and James Hall, The Sacred Made Real curator Xavier Bray and the Henry Moore Institute's Penelope Curtis and Jon Wood.
Both events will be informal and discursive - the focus in London will be on the complex relationship between religious painting and sculpture in Spain’s Golden Age, while in Leeds participants will explore the wider representations and meaning of sculpture in painting from Titian to the present day.
Cost will be £15 for one day or £30 if you are able to attend both events (concessions half-price). For more details or to book please contact Kirstie Gregory, kirstie@henry-moore.ac.uk.
