The Journal of Policy History is accepting panel and paper proposals for the sixth biennial Policy History Conference, to be held June 3-6, 2010 in Columbus, Ohio. The 2010 Conference features three plenary sessions:
"A State of War: Roundtable on U.S. Military History as Policy History," with Beth Bailey, Temple University; Bartholomew Sparrow, University of Texas; Peter Mansoor, Mershon Center/Ohio State University; Stephen Ortiz, Bowling Green State University; and Jonathan Winkler, Wright State University.
"American Economic Crises in Historical Perspective," with Michael Bernstein, Tulane University; Robert A. Collins, University of Missouri; Monica Prasad, Northwestern University; David M. Hart, George Mason University; and David Robertson, University of Missouri, St. Louis.
"Media and Politics," with Richard John, Columbia University; and (tentatively) James Fallows, The Atlantic.
We are currently accepting proposals on all topics concerning political and policy history, American political development, and comparative historical analysis. We welcome interdisciplinary panels on both international and domestic policy issues spanning the 18th through the 21st centuries. Complete sessions are encouraged, but individual paper proposals are welcome. The deadline for proposals is December 30, 2009.
Proposals should include a Panel/Paper Description and Contact Information Page, downloadable from our website; a one-page summary of each paper; and a one-page c.v. for each panelist.
