The College of Philosophy and Humanities (Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais) is pleased to announce the creation of one of its most new research centers: the Centro de Estudos de Inteligência Governamental (Center of Government Intelligence Studies). With a transdisciplinary academic profile it will aggregate academic researchers from many different areas and institutions, as well as professionals connected to government intelligence systems of this country and abroad, with the goal of, in partnership, produce a new mentality in the field of intelligence activity in a general form, whether in terms of cultural, procedural or theoretical.
In order to present to the public: the diversity related to the activity of intelligence, highly stigmatised in Latin American due to recent military dictator; the research in the country about the topic; as well as expectations related to it; we invite all to attend its opening conference to be held on 14 October of 2009, at 8 p.m. in the Auditório Bicalho, at the Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais – Pampulha Campus.
The opening conferences will be held by professor Dr. Denílson Feitoza, general director of the Foundation Escola Superior do Ministério Público de Minas Gerais – “Subsidies for a national plan of intelligence”-, and profa. dra. Priscila Carlos Brandão, Coordinator of the CEIG – “The Research in the field of intelligence in Brazil – 1980/2006.”
