Open Art History Session
The Association of Historians of Nineteenth-Century Art (AHNCA) will sponsor a session devoted to nineteenth-century visual culture at the Interdisciplinary Nineteenth-Century Studies Association (INCS) annual conference which will take place at the University of Texas at Austin from March 25-27, 2010.
Proposals should engage--either specifically or broadly--with the theme of the conference: "Family/Resemblance"
Topics may include: portraiture/family portraiture; resemblance; replication; mimesis/imitation; artist families; photography; the visual construction of family/"family", family albums, etc.
The plenary speakers are: Abigail Solomon-Godeau, Professor of Art History, University of California, Santa Barbara and Elizabeth Helsinger, John Matthews Manly Distinguished Service Professor, University of Chicago
