Lemkin Award and Lecture: Darius Rejali on "Torture and Decmocracy, What Next?" at New York University on Nov. 5, 2009
"Torture and Democracy: What Next?" will be the subject of Darius Rjeali's lecture sponsored by the Institute for Study of Genocide and NYU Liberal Studies Program on Nov. 5 in Kimmel Hall 400 from 4:30-6:00.
Rejali will receive the Institute for Study of Genocide Lemkin Award for his book Torture and Democracy (Princeton
University Press, 2007). There will be a reception preceding the ceremony from 4:00-4:30 and books will be available for purchase and signing by the author. Please RSVP by October 20 to Joyce Apsel at jaa5@nyu.edu
Darius Rejali is Professor of Political Science at Reed College and a 2003 Carnegie Scholar. Iranian-born, Darius Rejali is one of the world's leading writers and thinkers on the subject of torture and its consequences on modern society.
