'Genre, Invention, and Modernity in Nineteenth Century Spain'
The complex interdisciplinary, hybrid nature of nineteenth-century modernization in Spain is revealed in literature, art, and science. This panel seeks papers that examine how various kinds of productions (including fiction, the press, poetry, machines, scientific treatises and discoveries) overlap and interact to communicate their underlying ideologies or the contemporary hegemonies that would come to be.
