New Netherland Director-General Petrus Stuyvesant was one of the most important political figures in early New York City, and he left a profound and lasting legacy. Join Jaap Jacobs, co-curator of the Museum’s exhibition Amsterdam/New Amsterdam: The Worlds of Henry Hudson and author of New Netherland: A Dutch Colony in Seventeenth-Century America (Basic Books, 2009), as he considers the development of New Netherland and Stuyvesant’s influence. Presented in conjunction with Amsterdam/New Amsterdam: The Worlds of Henry Hudson. Reservations required. $6 Museum members; $8 seniors and students; $12 non-members.
