On 22-23 October 2009 the Institute for Anthropological Research on Africa organizes a regional workshop on North-West Namibia (a region also known as Kaoko). Almost ten years after the publication of the volume "New Notes on Kaoko" (Henrichsen and Miescher, eds), the aim of this workshop is to bring together junior and senior researchers who work on the region, and to draft a new state of the art of current research in the humanities and social sciences regarding this part of the world.
