The World History Association of Texas conference, “Divergence & Convergence: People, Events, & Ideas that Have Shaped the World,” will be held at St. Edward’s University February 27-28, 2010. Conference organizers welcome proposals that connect world history teaching and research. Possible topics could include, but are not limited to:
• The digital age, social networking sites, and the use of information and communication technologies in furthering or resisting political and economic structures
• Shifts in modes of production, consumption, and entertainment
• The global impact of religions, ideologies, ethical constructs, trade, commerce and economic theory and practice
• Global themes in the humanities and social sciences
The Conference Organizing Committee welcomes proposals on any subject, period or area of globalization from faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars.
