I'm trying to put together a panel for the Society for Military History Conference, May 20-23, 2010. I currently have a paper on the Barbary Wars. It looks at the ways the United States advanced its position in international relations through the wars. Anything having to do with naval history, American diplomatic history or Mediterranean history could work. The deadline for panel proposals is October 1. If you think you would be interested, send me a one paragraph summary of your paper and a brief c.v.
