Frontiers and Fringes
September 11 - 12, 2009
Coastal Georgia Center
Historic Downtown Savannah, Georgia
Registration: $30 for two days/$20 for one day
This two-day event deepens understanding of the Scots-Irish as a vital American presence: past, present and future. Friday features a scholarly symposium: several world-class scholars from various disciplines will present seminal work on Scots-Irish Studies. These scholars come to us from the University of Ulster, Georgia Southern University, the University of Southern Maine and the University of Florida.
Friday evening sees a concert where acclaimed instrumentalists and singers highlight the Scots-Irish patrimony.
Saturday continues our scholarly endeavors, but enhances them with a lively presentation from the City of Lisburn, in County Antrim, birthplace of the Irish Linen industry.
Bring your colleagues and graduate students and join us in Historic Downtown Savannah.
