History of International Spaces: Antarctic Treaty Summit 50th Anniversary

In connection with the Antarctic Treaty Summit celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Antarctic Treaty, the History Action Group of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research and History Committee of the American Geophysical Union invite papers to be presented on the theme “History of International Spaces” at a workshop to be held in Washington, D.C., on 3 December 2009. The joint workshop is open for any presentation on the history of polar research or history of geophysics.
Papers addressing topics in the history of polar research (both Arctic and Antarctic) or in the history of geophysics are welcome. Abstracts of not more than 150 words may be submitted via e-mail attachment to:

and Kristine Harper (AGU History Committee)
no later than 31 October 2009.
