CALL FOR PAPERS DUE BY SEPT. 1, 2009
For its scholarly presentations, SOPHE prefers argumentative, thesis-driven papers, clearly
linked to larger philosophical, historical, and social issues concerning education as a social institution.
In all cases, individual presentations should be timed to finish within the strict limit of TWENTY
(20) MINUTES (roughly eight to ten typed, double-spaced pages).
Panel Presentations (three or more presenters) should be timed to finish in FIFTY (50) MINUTES.
Graduate student presentations are encouraged.
Versions of presentations may be submitted for publication in the refereed Journal of Philosophy
and History of Education and may be up to 15 pages double spaced.
Proposals should be 200-300 word abstracts or summaries of the presentation.
