The conference will examine the international impact of the Weimar Constitution, both at the time and in the long run. How did Western European democracies interpret the constitution around 1919? Did it have an immediate impact on the newly established states in Middle and Eastern Europe, and beyond? What impact did it have on subsequent constitution-making?
The conference is exploratory in nature and is looking for a wide variety of papers on individual countries, as well as comparative approaches. Young scholars are especially encouraged to submit their work in progress.
Please submit a short cv with a two-page outline for the paper.
