August Online Courses in Technology and Technology Integration!

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in partnership with PODetc (Professional Online Development from the Educational Technology Community), is pleased to offer the following ONLINE continuing education courses in technology and technology integration during the month of August!
These courses focus on instructional technology integration in the classroom and are designed to help educators meet specific International Society of Technology Education (ISTE) National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for Educators, Administrators, Students; the Wisconsin PI 34 Teacher Standards; and the Partnership for 21st Century Learning Skills.
These courses are geared towards K-12 educators, administrators, and technical and community college instructors. All courses are available for one graduate credit or may be taken as a noncredit participant.
Introduction to Instructional Technology in the Classroom
What does it mean to be truly technologically literate? The International Society of Technology Education (ISTE) defines it as proficiency for students in the following six areas: Creativity and Innovation; Communication and Collaboration; Research and Information Fluency; Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making; Digital Citizenship; Technology Operations and Concepts. This three-week survey course will introduce educators to the main threads of the ISTE National Education Technology Standards (NETS), and Wisconsin fourth, eighth and twelfth grade technology proficiency standards.

Technology Literacy 103: Utilizing Social-Networking Support Tools in a Leadership Capacity
This online course is designed to help educators learn how to create asynchronous technical support for others in their organizations through the use of social networking and Web 2.0 tools. Through peer-to-peer engagement with others in this course, participants will create learning resources for colleagues in their own organizations!

Creativity and Innovation in the Classroom
This online course examines the ISTE standard "Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity" and how educators can apply and integrate it into their current curriculum. This course will give classroom teachers insight into how to balance their curriculum with integrated technology. Participants will design curriculum to be used in their classrooms and work in a collaborative environment to share ideas and build a surplus of useful strategies and ideas as determined by the community of practice.
