The conference ‘Life Writing in Europe’ will take place at VU University in Amsterdam, 29-31 October 2009. This founding conference of IABA Europe is meant to take stock of the many auto/biography scholars in Europe, their areas of research and possible life writing centres. In addition to the presentation of a series of short papers we will use the conference to organise the European chapter of IABA, to establish a network of European life writing scholars and discuss possibilities of starting an e-journal.
