We are pleased to announce the online graduate student publication of the Spring 2009 issue of Portals: A Journal in Comparative Literature. This year's edition explores a remarkable range of texts from diverse national and literary traditions, from Dhuoda's ninth century Latin text Liber Manualis to the mid-Victorian era work of J. Sheridan Le Fanu to the contemporary Arabic poetry of Jumal Juma. The critical essays and poetry translations of the Spring 2009 edition continue the Portals tradition of pushing the boundaries of comparative and world literature.
