Pioneer America Society/Eastern Historical Geography Association Joint Meeting

The Pioneer America Society will hold its 2009 conference in conjunction with the Eastern Historical Geography Association at Pipestem Resort State Park in Pipestem, WV, on October 29-31, 2009. It is hoped that the two organizations' mutual interests in the impact of historical processes on the landscape will be an incentive for members to attend this meeting in such a fascinating region. The conference will begin on Thursday with registration, an opening reception (7-8 pm), and the Mountaintop Removal Road Show (8-9:30 pm) For more information on this local group, please visit http://www.mountainroadshow.com/. Papers will be presented on Friday, and Saturday will be devoted to a day-long field trip.
