Dear Colleagues,
I write to ask for your assistance in identifying suitable candidates to serve as peer reviewers for Resources for College Libraries, a core list of recommended titles for college libraries published by ACRL/Choice and R.R. Bowker. We are currently seeking academic faculty and librarians with specific subject expertise to participate in our peer review process in the following areas:
African American Studies
African History, Languages, and Literatures
American Studies
Ancient History
Asian American Studies
Asian History, Languages, and Literatures
Criminal Justice
Environmental Studies
European History
Film Studies
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Studies
Gender Studies

Middle Eastern History, Languages, and Literatures

United States and Canadian History

Victorian Studies
World and Comparative History
Please consider submitting your name, or that of a qualified colleague, for consideration. Preference will be given to those with experience in teaching and/or collection development in a given subject area. To volunteer as a reviewer, please send an email to adoherty@ala-choice.org with your name, title, and a brief description of your qualifications. Those selected will be responsible for reviewing the RCL subject area’s contents during a 2-4 week period this summer, with all review work scheduled for completion by August 1, 2009.
A collaborative project between ACRL’s Choice editorial staff, knowledgeable subject editors recruited from teaching faculty and academic librarians, and bibliographic authority R.R. Bowker, RCL covers 61 curriculum-specific subjects and identifies approximately 65,000 titles most necessary for teaching undergraduates, including electronic resources essential for academic study.
