This is to gladly inform you that the refurbished English language website of the Cold War History Research Center Budapest (www.coldwar.hu) is available now!
Please, check it out. Could I also ask you to inform your colleagues and students about our web site that is now truly becoming a regional online resource on the history of the Soviet Bloc. This web site offers online articles, documents, chronologies, bibliographies and other useful research aids like a Soviet Bloc leadership database. Our researcher database will soon include all institutes and most active contemporary history researchers working in the countries that once belonged to the Soviet Bloc and Yugoslavia.
We relaunched the web site in mid-January, 2009 and by now we have had more than 20 thousand visits and 350 thousand hits. Our (unpaid) internship program is also a great success: now we have two interns form the US and Germany and during the Summer six interns will work with us from several countries including the US, Great-Britain and Germany.
By the end of the Summer we will prepare and offer many more new online materials on the history of the Soviet Bloc in the Cold War era so it is worth visiting us time to time for new updates.
