The Historical Sociolinguistics Network (HISON) will be offering its third summer school in August 2009. Classes will be conducted in modern and historical sociolinguists by leading international experts in the field. The venue is the University of Agder's Metochi study centre, a former monastery on the Greek island of Lesbos. Classes will take place in the morning and early evening and participants will have the opportunity to present their own research at a special session during the program.
