I would like to draw your attention to the 10th Weimar Summer Courses taking place on June 28th - July 11th 2009 in Weimar, Germany, and addressing the general topic "Milestones of Democracy" - European Memories 2009. It will be possible to obtain university credits for successful participation.

The seminar to be advertised here in particular is entitled "Civil Society and the Media in Central and Eastern Europe after 1989". As in previous years, it will include a practical hands-on workshop in which the participants will learn and apply basic techniques of radio journalism (see http://www.weimar-summer-courses.de/archive.html for examples).

Places are still available on all three courses in English, so the organisers have decided to extend the closing date for registrations and applications for scholarships until April 30th. Please note, also, that further courses in Weimar will be offered in German in the second half of August this year (www.sommerkurse-weimar.de).
