Romanian Cultural Institute invites you for the 15th edition of the Romanian Language, Culture and Civilisation Courses in Brasov (Transilvania) July 12th – August 2nd, 2009.
The program contains intensive Romanian language classes, conferences on cultural topics and creative workshops: creative writing, 19th century Ball dancing and retro-costumes, Romanian gastronomy. Moreover, field trips are to be organized to the fortified Saxon fortresses Harman, Prejmer, Viscri, to the Bran castle, to the Rupea fortress, in the Old City of Brasov. These site visits will benefit from the informed comments of young sociologists historians and art historians.
The participation fee is 1000 Euros (registration, tuition, courses, workshops, trips, extra activities in the program and all-inclusive accomodation). Additional expenses (international and domestic return-tickets to Brasov, health insurances) are to be covered by the participants.
Several full and partials cholarships intended for the students of Romanian studies programs abroad, who are using the Romanian language for documentation, scientific research, translations, writing of academic papers or reviews on Romanian culture and civilization are available.
Grants are awarded on a highly competitive basis. Students can apply for 2 full grants (that cover the participation fee) or 4 partial (2 scholarships on 25% and 2 scholarships on 50% of the participation fee). The deadline for the grant applications is June 20th, 2009.
