Como parte de un esfuerzo investigativo de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, The Johns Hopkins University y la Fundación Ricky Martin se ha investigado la trata de niños y niñas en Puerto Rico Este trabajo pretende ampliar el conocimiento de este fenómeno en las latitudes caribeñas y ver en qué medida Puerto Rico está inserto en este mal social. Es el primer estudio en nuestro país que revela la magnitud de este fenómeno en nuestra isla y sus representaciones en el contexto de nuestra sociedad.
