Smithsonian Fellows Lectures in American Art

The Smithsonian Fellows Lectures in American Art will take place on May 14 and 15, 2009, from 1 to 6 p.m. each day, in the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s McEvoy Auditorium, 8th and G Streets NW, Washington, D.C. No reservations are required. Thursday’s speakers include (in order): Nancy Palm, Indiana University; Crawford Alexander Mann III, Yale University; Makeda Best, Harvard University; Ellery Foutch, University of Pennsylvania; Melissa Warak, University of Texas at Austin; Jeannine Tang, Courtauld Institute of Art; and Annemarie Voss, Rutgers University. Friday’s speakers include (in order): Jason LaFountain, Harvard University; Joanna Frang, Brandeis University; Sarah Carter, Harvard University; Jonathan F. Walz, University of Maryland; Valerie Hellstein, Stony Brook University; Jason Goldman, University of Southern California; and Janneken Smucker, University of Delaware.
