This one-day workshop is an introduction to the complex world of publishing peer-reviewed journal articles in the humanities and social sciences.
The goal is to help graduate students and faculty overcome their writing anxieties and avoid the most common mistakes that scholarly authors make when submitting articles to journals.
During the workshop, editor, Princeton faculty member, and author Wendy Belcher explains strategies for achieving success in the academic writing arena, including setting up a work schedule and clarifying arguments. Participants are expected to bring a draft (however rough) of a paper they would like to publish.
Wendy Belcher, editor for over 20 years for academic presses and peer-reviewed journals, including Oxford University Press, University of California Press and Routledge. Ms. Belcher is author of the book Writing Your Journal Article In Twelve Weeks: A Guide to Academic Publishing Success.
