The Nordic Summer School in Contemporary History is open for PhD students. The aim of this year’s summer school is to discuss the transnational perspective in relation to central research areas of contemporary history: Americanization, the Cold War, and Foreign Aid. These areas of contemporary historiography unite cultural and political approaches to the study of history. As such they are eminently suited to the twin purpose of the summer school: to broaden the knowledge of the participants on central issues of contemporary historiography and history by means of lectures and discussions and through workshop presentations and discussions with senior scholars and fellow students of papers delivered by the participating PhD students.
Venue: University of Aarhus, Denmark. Date: August 16th – August 20th 2009. Registration date (including title on proposed paper): April 11th 2009. Message of admittance April 15th 2009. Deadline for papers: July 6th, 2009.
