Title: For the Public Good: The Development of Nurse Training and Postsecondary Education in Florida
Description: At the time of the 1900 Census, there were only a handful of documented hospital training programs for nurses in the State of Florida, as well as a highly segregated nascent system of postsecondary education. This talk will explore some of the highlights of where and how opportunities developed in Florida for access to nursing education in particular, and higher education in general, during the twentieth century.
