The recently ended high energy prices coupled with the awareness of the climate change due to green gas emissions, precipitated the increase in demand for clean technologies and techniques. However the global economy is currently in a severe downturn. Under these extreme conditions, how can your company survive or even gain a competitive edge while still integrating and implementing green technologies? This conference brings together leading experts from business, academia, non-governmental organizations, and governments to discuss how green technologies have merged with energy and logistics. The conference aimed at senior executives will feature speakers from companies, government agencies and academia who are researching, implementing, or investing in green technologies. Learn the latest developments in the industry and the future of green technologies through interactive discussions exposing you to information and knowledge that you can immediately apply to your organizations operations in addition to networking with decision makers under a relaxed atmosphere. Discuss how you can collaborate with other organizations to reduce your carbon footprint and utilize your governments economic recovery packages to improve your bottom line.
The following topics are suggested for discussions.
The decline of the oil prices (oil bubble burst) and outlook
Current and future sources of energy
How will the low oil prices impact investments in clean and energy efficient initiatives?
Is an oil independent economy a myth?
How can logistics companies reduce their carbon footprints and how can you implement a green supply chain in a recession?
How can the transportation infrastructure be paid for and how can it be more supportive of a health environment?
How do you collaborate with other organizations in developing a green strategy?
How will the economic stimulus package affect the energy sector and your company?
What are the existing renewable energy technologies and what is the major impediment to their implementation?
How have the volatile market, the credit crunch and the downturn in the economy affected energy, logistics and green initiatives? How can your company prosper in the recession?
Energy efficiency practices and technologies
The federal government appropriation tends to be transportation mode specific. Is there a need for a national office that will focus on coordinating intermodal in terms of projects, funding and integrating private and public efforts effectively and efficiently?
