The study of war and its repercussions is fundamental to our understanding of the Middle Ages. This three day conference, jointly organised by postgraduates from Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, aims to showcase a range of postgraduate research on wartime communities, and in doing so, initiate a constructive dialogue between military and non military reseachers. Proposals (200 words) for 20-minute papers are welcome from PhD students of history, archeology and related disciplines on any pertinent topic. They should be sent to Katy Dutton and Andrew Smith at war_conf@arts .gla.ac.uk by 31st March 2009. There are no registration costs, and accomodation and conference dinner will be free of charge for presenters. Delegates are encouraged to recoup travel costs from their home institutions, but we do intend to make a small bursary available to assist with travel costs.
