4th Annual conference organized by the postgraduate students of the Departments of History, University College- Dublin (UCD) and Trinity College, Dublin (TCD)
Held on 22nd (TCD) and 23rd May (UCD)
The UCD-TCD conference in its fourth year would like to open a call for papers for this year’s conference entitled ‘Crisis and Continuity’. The principal goal of the conference is to create a forum for postgraduates across the disciplines of the humanities, which overlap with the historical studies. Proposals are welcomed for a broad range of topics and spanning any time period (1100-1980). Papers must be original and not presented previously in Ireland. The conference also presents an option for publication in an e-journal.
Possible areas for discussion include, but are in no way limited to the following topics:
Society and Government in Crisis
Crises of Faith
Communities of Continuity in a World of Change
Nation states during peace and war
Conference papers are 15-20 minutes in length. To submit a proposal for the conference, please submit a 250 word abstract and a short biography of the author via the conference’s submission form on the conference website, http://www.postgradhistoryconference.ie/ by 8th APRIL 2009. Additional information regarding the conference can be found on the website or by emailing the organizing committee at tcducdpostgradhistoryconference4@hotmail.com.
