The Mid-Atlantic Popular and American Culture Association (MAPACA) invites papers and panels for their annual conference at the Logan Hilton in Boston, November 5-7, 2009. Abstracts are due by June 15, 2009. MAPACA invites academics, graduate and undergraduate students, independent scholars, and other professionals to submit papers. Single papers, as well as 3- or 4-person panels and roundtables, are encouraged. As an inclusive professional organization dedicated to the study of Popular Culture and American Culture in all their multidisciplinary manifestations, MAPACA hosts presentations in 42 of areas of study.
Those interested are invited to submit a one page abstract and brief bio directly to the area chair of their selected topic listed at http://www.mapaca.net/confer/callForPapers.html.
For further information, please consult MAPACA's on-line newsletter, The Gazette, at www.mapaca.net. Prospective presenters may submit only ONE proposal to only ONE area. Multiple submissions will result in rejection of all proposals.
