Special Guest
James M. Goode
"Washington's Outdoor Sculpture—Developments in the Last 35 Years"
Noted Washington historian James M. Goode will treat attendees an illustrated survey of the abundant, new outdoor sculpture that has appeared in the city since the publication of his landmark book, The Outdoor Sculpture of Washington, in 1974. His talk will provide a glimpse of the treasures in the handsome, revised second edition of his popular book, just released by Johns Hopkins University Press. The book has been the definitive source of information on the subject of Washington's outdoor sculpture for almost 35 years. Mr. Goode is also the author of two other classic works on Washington—Best Addresses: A Century of Washington's Distinguished Apartment Houses; and Capital Losses: A Cultural History of Washington's Destroyed Buildings.
