The 2009 West Coast Civil War Conference (October 23-25) will explore the 1863 campaign for Chattanooga, Tennessee. Preeminent scholars such as Dr. Steven Woodworth (Texas Christian University), Dr. William Glenn Robertson (Combat Studies Institute, Fort Leavenworth), Wiley Sword, and James Ogden (National Park Service) among others will share new insights and new research on this often overlooked and under appreciated campaign. Our focus will be not only on key battles and leaders, but also on the campaign’s origins and consequences.
