The Society of Arab & Islamic Studies (SAIS) at the University of Exeter (UK) cordially extends this invitation to all academics and professionals with particular interest in the Republic of Yemen to take part in the semi-annual Panel Series beginning 4 June 2009.
The Yemen Panel Series will involve a series of interdisciplinary panel discussions organized by SAIS to encourage student researchers from around the world to present their work to an academic audience. In addition, we will reach out to a number of Academic Journals in order to encourage publications of the proceedings. This program will convene TWO panels per calendar year, to be held either at the University of Exeter or in London with the help of a local host organization. We believe that there is a young and vibrant group of students, Masterís and PhD, at the forefront of their particular discipline and are in need of exposure of their work to a broader audience.
Deadline to submit 300 word abstract by student researchers (only) is 10 April 2009.
Program announcement 1 May 2009.
This event is open to the public. Please RSVP by 18 May 2009.
