Proposal for Roundtable Discussion:"Interpreting and Re-Interpreting the 1980s" for 2010 Organization of American Historians Annual Meeting, Washington, DC

This Roundtable session, proposed for the 2010 Annual Meeting of the Organization of American Historians in Washington, DC, seeks to assess and reassess the 1980s legacy in a diversity of areas in American life. Seeking discussion participants who will address issues including, but not limited to: the role of mainstream and radical opposition to Reagan conservatism, to environmental, women’s, and foreign policy activism, and to mainstream and alternative cultural expressions that reveal both the decade’s public and secret transcripts.
