The 2009 annual meeting of the New England Conference of the Association for Asian Studies will be hosted by Brown University and the Department of East Asian Studies on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island.
Proposals are invited for individual papers, panels and roundtables in all areas of Asian Studies. Interdisciplinary proposals are especially encouraged, as are forums focusing on K-12 education. We encourage panel organizers to be creative in their approach, and where possible to limit paper presentations in favor of structures that will encourage discussion and scholarly exchange. The deadline for submission of individual papers, panels and roundtable proposals is Friday, May 1, 2009.
