A call for papers for the 2009 Phi Alpha Theta - North & Central Texas Region Conference annual meeting on April 4, 2009, in Denton, Texas, is now being issued. The meeting will be held in Discovery Park, the University of North Texas, in Denton, Texas.
We solicit proposals for panels on any historical topic or period, and we welcome participation by historians, literary critics, economists, sociologists, art historians, and scholars in other allied disciplines. Graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to submit proposals to the faculty advisor of the Alpha Lambda chapter of Phi Alpha Theta. It is not necessary to be a member of Phi Alpha Theta to submit a paper proposal for this conference.
Proposals for entire panels on a given theme will be given priority, although individual paper proposals will also be considered if several of them can be assembled to create a viable panel.
Proposals for individual papers should include name and contact information, as well as the paper abstract and brief C.V.
Proposals for panels should include: a list containing paper titles, names and contact information for each panelist; a statement of the overall purpose and goals of the panel; a 200-300 word abstract for each paper to be read; and a one or two page C.V. for each
participant.
