The academic journal Meridian critic (The Annals of Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava, Literature Series) invites submissions of papers for the first 2009 issue on various aspects of Postmodernist Literature, ranging from its relationship to modernism, either as radical break with or as continuation of modernist aesthetics and ideology, through its relationship to postmodernity and postmodernist theory, to its intersection with postcolonial problematics.
Possible topics for exploration include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Identity politics under the sign of relativism, uncertainty, technology
• Postmodernist literary projections of the social and political agenda
• Self-consciousness in the age of ethical confusion
• Problematizing the concept of history
• Postmodernist literature at the intersection of the global, local, and glocal
• The postmodern self between the public and the private spheres
• Postmodernism and popular culture
• Democracy and authoritarian power in postmodernist literature
• Deconstructions and reconstructions
