The Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University is pleased to host the 8th Biennial Conference of the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS), “The New Face of Genocide in the 21st Century.” This conference is designed to provide a forum for the exchange of research and ideas related to genocide studies. The organizers invite papers and panels that reflect innovative research and thinking about the nature, causes, and consequences of historic and contemporary genocide. They also welcome workshops and roundtable discussions that advance policy initiatives, pedagogy and education, and film and other cultural media on the history and prevention of genocide. Genocide studies cover a wide diversity of approaches and theories. Teachers, scholars, and activists in genocide studies from any discipline are encouraged to apply, as are graduate students working in the field.
