For the William Carlos Williams session at the MLA convention in Philadelphia, 27-30 December 2009, we are especially interested in ideas for papers with fresh points of view on WCW biographically -- not simply in terms of the familiar "life-studies" that have emerged thus far, and the ways in which WCW portrays his persona in the context of his Autobiography; but, pressing further, the degree to which the varying and often-unpredictable rhythms and stresses of Williams's daily routine influenced the vast corpus of his writing in all genres -- poetry, fiction, nonfiction, drama, epic.
Abstracts of no more than one page and a short CV should be emailed to me at the contact address herewith. The firm deadline for receipt of abstracts is 15 March 2009.
