Peer English
Call for Papers
Peer English (ISSN 1474-8959) is a refereed academic journal, now in its fourth year, published by members of the School of English at the University of Leicester. Our remit is to publish leading research from those academics at the very beginnings of their careers (graduate study, post-doctoral research) through to those already established within the community. This approach also includes the notion of ‘work in progress’ and we welcome contributions of high academic standards from those currently involved in active research, be they doctoral candidates or Heads of Departments.
Published annually Peer English embraces not only the full range of subject coverage within the field of English Studies, but also the increasingly wide range of approaches and perspectives that can be brought to bear upon the discipline. We welcome, therefore, both traditional and modern approaches to the field, from close critical readings of literary texts, to interdisciplinary approaches or cross-subject analyses.
We invite academic papers (2000-5000 words), short articles on research-related issues (funding, careers, the ‘publish-or-perish’ culture), and reviews and review-essays of recent publications. All typescript, including correspondence, should be double-spaced, MLA referenced, sent on disk saved as a Word document and accompanied by two hard copies of the text.
The submission deadline for Volume 4 is 25 May 2009.
Submissions may also be considered during June, but only after prior arrangement with the editor. Please contact the editor with an abstract or proposal if you wish to submit but have concerns about being unable to make the deadline.
Contributions should be sent to:
