Intersections of Identity and Difference:
Race, Gender, Class, Ethnicity, Sexuality, Disability
This panel – part of the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association Convention convening 8-10 October 2009 in Snowbird, Utah – seeks to examine the operations and ongoing relevance of intersectionality theory. Presenters might address intersectionality in literature; intersectionality and “post” ideologies (e.g., claims of “post-race”); intersectionality and academe; intersectionality and metaphors of coming (crashing?) together, etc. The list is suggestive; proposals from various disciplines and frameworks are welcomed.
Submit proposals by 1 March 2009 to christopher.bell@ntu.ac.uk. Questions welcomed.
