The Maine Women Writers Collection at the University of New England will host a symposium entitled "Women in the Archives" in celebration of the MWWC's 50th anniversary.
Date: June 11-14, 2009
Location: Westbrook College Campus, University of New England, Portland, Maine
This symposium will explore the practical and theoretical aspects of using archival sources in research and teaching on women, with a particular focus on the United States.
Registration will be open to all. The Symposium program includes a multidisciplinary group of leading scholars and librarians from an array of repositories.
The Maine Women Writers Collection is a special library collection of rare and unique materials related to Maine women writers, and to women writers more generally. It was founded in 1959 and is a National Literary Landmark.
