"BackStory With the American History Guys" is a new history show for public radio, hosted by historians Ed Ayers, Peter Onuf, and Brian Balogh and based at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. We are currently looking for interested participants for our "Just the Facts: Partisanship and the Press" episode.
The show will focus on how the American press has historically negotiated the line between partisanship and objectivity. Specifically, we're interested in deconstructing listeners' assumptions about how bias has operated in American journalism.
We're looking for callers who want to join us on the air with a question or comment about this subject. Being a caller only takes about ten minutes and it's a great opportunity to chat with three knowledgeable and entertaining historians about whatever you want to bring to the table. Recording sessions will be held as early as January 24th.
In addition, if the history of the American press is your field of study, producers invite your comments.
PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO CATHERINE MOORE (cvmoore@virginia.edu) OR POST A COMMENT ON www.backstoryradio.org IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING. Feel free to forward this message to anyone who may be interested.
We hope to hear from you soon!
