CFP for AAA 2009: Masculinities Panel

I am organizing a panel for the AAAs on masculinities. The title of the panel is “Masculinities in Motion: Violence, Non-Violence, and Beyond.”

Possible topics may include (but are not limited to):
-violence and masculinity
-nonviolence and masculinity
- alternative masculinities
-methodological issues related to researching masculinities cross-culturally
-migration and changing notions of masculinity
-theorizing masculinities
-health and masculinity
-masculinity and feminism
-masculinities and social change

Papers on nonviolent and violent forms of masculinity in the context of migration are especially welcome.

If you are interested in participating, please send an abstract (250 words) for a 15-minute presentation to Cristina Alcalde, cristina.alcalde@uky.edu, by March 1, 2009.
